Who We are

Two men standing beside a green John Deere tractor outdoors in the late afternoon, smiling and posing with arms crossed, on a grassy field with trees in the background.

Gunpowder Valley Farm is a 3rd generation family farm created in 1987 when the Smith family moved from York, Pennsylvania to Northern Kentucky. Up until now, we have been homesteading the land for years, striving for healthier food and self sufficiency. We are now a fully functional farm, producing what we believe is the best food possible, by refusing to bow to the artificial practices Big Ag pushes.

We believe that God has blessed us with our land. That is why we do what we do. It is our mission to properly manage what God has given us, and to share its benefits with others.

Seasonality

At Gunpowder Valley Farm, we work with the seasons. God created nature to work better at different times of the year. A chicken will not produce as many eggs in winter just like a tomato plant can’t grow in frost. By working with the seasons as God intended, we compliment nature and in return, it gives us a bountiful harvest.
